This 18-year-old Chinese Singaporean student came to Dr Arthur Tjandra of Elixir de Vie for inner thighs liposuction. Being a student, she could not afford Dr Arthur Tjandra‘s signature 3-dimensional liposuction. Unless otherwise stated, whenever we mentioned thighs liposuction in this Online Encyclopedia, we meant 3-dimensional liposuction of the thighs, which are all the areas from hips down to knees, in the entire circumference. As she did not have the financial means to afford 3D liposuction, she opted for only frontal thighs and inner thighs liposuction. To achieve the best result, all interconnected areas of the inner half of thighs should be addressed together: inner thighs, frontal thighs and knees. This is especially if one has fat knees like her. But, unfortunately she could not afford it, so the knees were left out.
Interestingly, this was not always the way Dr Arthur Tjandra of Elixir de Vie charged his liposuction fees. Back in 2008, when he started Elixir de Vie, he did not divide the thighs into so many areas and charged them separately. Back then, he performed comprehensive 3-dimensional liposuction of the thighs, and charged a flat fee of SGD 95! Yes, back in 2008, entire 3D thighs liposuction, or entire 3D upper body liposuction, or entire 3D torso liposuction cost only SGD 95!
However, he started to see patients who have had liposuction done elsewhere coming to him for revision liposuction. He realized that most surgeons performed liposuction on only the inner and outer thighs, but advised their patients that they had performed whole thighs liposuction, that they had remove all the fat they could, from their patients’ entire thighs. Those surgeons were either dishonest, or had the slightest idea of what 3D liposuction was. As a matter of fact, Dr Arthur Tjandra of Elixir de Vie was the one who popularized the term 3D liposuction. Back in the 2000s, no one knew what 3D liposuction was. Anyway, those patients who have had their primary liposuction surgeries done elsewhere, were not happy with the results. When Dr Arthur Tjandra of Elixir de Vie learned that those patients actually paid thousands and even tens of thousands of dollars for their primary surgeries, but only paid him SGD 95 for their secondary/revision surgeries, he knew he needed to do something about it. But, it was not until many years later, that he increased his surgery fee from SGD 95 for 3D thighs liposuction, to SGD 95/area. Back then, most of his patients were cash-strapped students who went to Thailand for their primary surgeries, and had no more money left for their revision surgeries. Dr Arthur Tjandra of Elixir de Vie decided that he would help those students for a few years first, to accumulate good karma, before hiking his fees. Those days are over now. Back then, one could get whole body 3D-liposuction in Medan for just 3 x SGD 95 = SGD 285! Not anymore, unfortunately.
