This extremely skinny 23-year-old Chinese Singaporean student came to Dr Arthur Tjandra of Elixir de Vie for autologous fat grafting breasts augmentation.
Before flying to Medan, she had consulted 3 other plastic surgeons in Singapore who advised her that it was impossible to harvest fat for autologous fat transfer breasts augmentation on such a skinny patient like her, who weighed just 40 kg. All of them offered her breast implants. But, she was not keen on breasts implants after reading about breast implant illness. The fact is, it is a lot harder, and requires extraordinary skill to perform liposuction on an extremely skinny patient. There is absolutely no room for error! Any slight over-aspiration or under-aspiration will immediately shows on the skin surface as hills and valleys. This is unlike performing liposuction on a fat patient, where there is plenty of room for error, because of the extremely thick layer of fat!
When Dr Arthur Tjandra of Elixir de Vie examined her, he found that not only that she had more than enough fat to harvest for fat injection into her breasts, but she had enough for at least 4 sessions of fat grafting, harvested from her thighs alone!
She had a total of 2 sessions of autologous fat grafting breasts augmentation with fat harvested from her inner thighs, one inner thigh at at time, 3 months apart.
