This case study has been previously published on our YouTube channel more than a year ago. We are republishing it on this blog, as the patient returns for a second session of liposuction.
This young Chinese woman in her mid-30s had liposuction on her anterior/frontal tummy in Shanghai almost a year ago. As the surgeon probably performed ultrasound-assisted liposuction and did it too close to the skin, causing burns, it heals with adhesion scars which cause the “stuck-down” appearance of the skin. This is one of the most common complications of liposuction, especially if performed with machines. It is such a waste as she could have got a perfect result as she already has nice hour-glass figure to begin with. All she needed was just flat frontal tummy, and she ended with scars!
Unhappy with the result of her frontal tummy liposuction which caused a lot of “stuck-down” effects because of burns and adhesion scars formed as a result of ultrasound-assisted liposuction, this Chinese patient eventually comes to Dr Arthur Tjandra of Elixir de Vie to get inner thighs liposuction and autologous fat grafting to her buttocks, as well as autologous fat grafting to mid-face to rejuvenate her look. One can see that although she has big buttocks, the middle part of her buttocks are sunken. As she likes J Lo’s buttocks and relatively huge thighs, liposuction on only the inner portion of her thighs was done. The fat is then injected into her buttocks to produce the lift which she wants, thus the Brazilian buttocks lift!
