Patient No. 470, Session 6: Touch-up inner thighs, lower buttocks and back of thighs liposuction

This woman in her early-30s, embarked on her whole body liposuction journey with Dr Arthur Tjandra of Elixir de Vie 1 year and 10 months ago. During a span of 1 year and 4 months, she visited Dr Arthur Tjandra of Elixir de Vie 5 times, to get whole body liposuction and 1 session of autologous fat grafting breasts augmentation. Her previous case studies have been published on this Vlog. She now returns for touch-up liposuction on her lower buttocks and back of thighs.

The following videos show the result of her inner half of thighs liposuction, 1 year and 4 months later, and outer half of thighs liposuction, 11 months later. As she had gigantic thunder thighs with more than 4 liters of fat to be removed, while Dr Arthur Tjandra of Elixir de Vie only removes maximum 2 liters of fat in any one session of liposuction for safety reason, 2 sessions of liposuction needed to be performed on her thighs in order to remove all 4 liters of fat. She was given 2 options:

Option 1: 3D liposuction of all 7 areas of the thighs to be done over 2 sessions, which means she gets inner thighs done twice, outer thighs done twice, and so on. The advantage of doing so is that removal of fat from any one areas is done over 2 separate sessions, hence it is more likely for the skin to retract back before more fat is removed from the same area again 6-12 months later. The disadvantage are: liposuction has to be done on the same areas twice, which means she has to pay twice, as well.

Option 2: All the fat from inner half of thighs will be aspirated in just one session instead of two. When she returns for the next session, all the fat from the outer half of her thighs will be aspirated. The advantage is that she has to pay for only one time liposuction for each area. The disadvantage is, as 2 liters of fat is aspirated from just inner thighs alone, where the skin is the thinnest, it is extremely hard for the skin to retract back nicely. This results in waviness because of loose, dangling skin, as what we see in this case study.

This is in stark contrast to Patient No. 471, who also had her thighs liposuction done over 2 separate sessions, but with “staggered” liposuction performed on all 7 areas, twice. This allows her skin to retract back nicely. Moreover, Dr Arthur Tjandra of Elixir de Vie only removed a total of 3 liters of fat from her thighs in those 2 sessions.
