This 25-year-old Australian athlete flew all the way from Brisbane, Australia, to Medan, to look for Dr Arthur Tjandra of Elixir de Vie for thighs liposuction. She was actually already pretty slim, but her thighs were disproportionately thicker compared to the other parts of her body. She also had stubborn layer of fat which stubbornly stayed despite all her work-outs and training. As an athlete, she knew exercise physiology and understood that she could not “spot-reduce” with exercise and dieting. As she was not troubled by her inner thighs and knees, liposuction was performed on only the outer half of her thighs, which consist of 4 areas: hips, lower buttocks and saddle bags, outer thighs and back of thighs. There is no way you could get liposuction done on only one area, without getting all adjacent areas done, without leaving a hollowed out area in your thigh, which may look like you had been bitten by werewolf or vampire! Unfortunately, we see surgeons all over the world repeating the same mistakes over and over again. You can go to the “Revision liposuction” section of this Vlog to view the full video case studies of patients from all around the world who flew to Medan for revision liposuction, because their previous surgeons did not perform 3-dimensional liposuction for them!

When you embark on a diet and exercise program, your body will burn fat from your whole body, burning easiest-to-burn fat away first, and leaving stubborn fat behind. Unfortunately, most women are genetically pre-determined to store stubborn fat in particular areas of their bodies. This, in return, determines their body shapes. Some women have pear-shaped bodies, which are bottom-heavy. Some have apple-shaped bodies. While others may have watermelon, papaya, banana-shaped bodies and so on and so forth.

It is hilarious to see people who want to have flat tummy doing 1,000 sit-ups 1000 every day, or those who want to have shapely knees or get rid of saddle bags, do 1,000 squats a day, only to see their breasts disappear, and their thick stubborn layer of fat still hides the abs and thigh muscles they have built from doing 1,000 sit-ups and squats every day! The fact is, the only way to spot-reduce is with liposuction. This is what a lot of people do not understand, including some gym instructors! How often do you see women with “butterfly arms” being taught by their personal instructors to do biceps curl and triceps extension resistance training to get rid of their fat? The only way to burn fat is to do cardio work-outs. Unfortunately, you cannot order your body to burn fat from any particular areas. Most of the time, the stubborn fat stays, while your facial fat, which makes you appear youthful, and your breasts fat, disappear, making you appear like an 80-year-old grandmother who has breastfed a dozen children for 20 years!
