This case has previously been published on our YouTube channel. We are republishing videos from the first and second session on this blog, as this patient returns for her third session of surgery with Dr Arthur Tjandra of Elixir de Vie. She is one of Dr Arthur Tjandra’s favorite patients as she has taken the effort to blog about her experience and share the result of her surgeries on Realself.com. Most patients not only refuse to share the good works Dr Arthur Tjandra has performed for them, but purposely misled their friends to less experienced surgeons, so that their friends would never look better than they are! Women!

Anyway, this extremely slim young mother who was in her mid-30s, came to Dr Arthur Tjandra of Elixir de Vie a year ago, wanting to have bigger breasts. She was a very active woman, who played a lot of sports. As a result of this, she had sunken mid-face which made her appearance older. She also burnt off fat from her breasts, resulting in completely flat chest. She even needed to stuff tissue papers and socks to fill up her A-cup bras!

Would it be possible to harvest fat for autologous fat grafting breasts augmentation on an extremely slim woman weighing just 45 kg (99 lbs)? Most surgeons would tell this woman it’s impossible! However, Dr Arthur Tjandra of Elixir de Vie not only advised her that it was possible to do so, but also advised her that she had more than enough fat to complete at least 3 to 4 sessions of autologous fat grafting to her breasts! During this very first session, Dr Arthur Tjandra of Elixir de Vie performed liposuction on her left inner thigh and left knee only. She had more than enough fat from these 2 areas alone for injection into both breasts and her mid-face!

A mistake which many patients make is to complain about swollen face immediately, or just days following or during the first few weeks after fat injection into their face. These are the patient, whom despite the 1-hour pre-op consultation Dr Arthur Tjandra spends with them, fail to understand the concept of surgery. Surgery causes trauma. Trauma causes swelling. Swelling takes time to heal. Besides, there is no guarantee that the injected fat cells will survive. As a matter of fact, world wide survival rate for grafted fat cells range from 30% to maximum 60% only after 1 year! However, Dr Arthur Tjandra‘s records have been much higher than this. Ninety percent of his fat grafting cases have survival of 80-90% after 5 years!

This patient is an educated young woman. She understood the concept of swelling after surgery. She did not make any complain at all despite her “puffed-up” and swollen face after fat injection. She is ecstatic with the result 6 months later! Look at how beautiful and young she looks now!
