Having just visited Dr Arthur Tjandra of Elixir de Vie at the peak of Covid-19 pandemic barely 3 months ago, this woman in her late-20s returns for her 4th visit, braving through tight airports security and multiple Covid-19 testing both at departing and destination airports, because she is extremely eager to complete her whole body liposuction. It actually makes sense, because while people are still working from home, it is a good opportunity to get cosmetic surgeries done, so that you can recover at home, without anyone noticing that you have gone for surgeries! It is so amazing to be able to see before and after surgery result on the same patient, isn’t it? There is a downside of such approach, though. A patient may be unhappy with the most recently-lipoed side, when she compares that side, with the side which was lipo-ed many months ago. This is normal, because the side which was lipo-ed many months or even a year ago will definitely appear much better than the side which was just lipo-ed 3 months ago. This is because although everything may appear fine and fully recovered on skin level, at deeper levels below the skin, the traumatized tissues need at least 6 months, sometimes up to a year, to heal completely from a liposuction surgery.

This particular case study is an extremely good case study to show post-liposuction hyperpigmentation of the skin, which usually a year to fully recover. As you can see in the video below, the skin color of her left thigh has returned to normal, while her right thigh appears darkish, with obvious patches of hyperpigmentation throughout the entire length of her thigh. This is because her left thigh liposuction was performed a year ago, while her right thigh liposuction was performed barely 3 months ago.
